INTRODUCTION

Thank you for the opportunity to bring your vision to life.

I’m always excited to collaborate and hear more about what you have in mind.

To ensure the workflow of your commission runs as smoothly and enjoyable as possible, I’ve outlined the key stages below. It’s a simple guide to how we’ll bring your commission to life together.

COMMISSION PROCESS

To begin I ask that you share 3 of my previous works that you have felt most connected to, as well as any colour palette requests and dimensions. This ensures we are on the same page visually. I won’t ever be able to recreate a previous work and require as much creative freedom as possible for best results.

COMMISSION WORK

A brief outline.

Painting of a marina with sailboats docked and a green shoreline with houses in the background, set against a clear blue sky.

STAGE 1 - Scene Planning

At our first meeting please share a few photos of the scene or subject you’d like me to capture. This helps me see the scene through your eyes and understand what details matter most to you.

If it’s a coastal location, I may suggest revisiting at different times - high or low tide, or different light, to explore the changing atmosphere. The more imagery and context you can share, the better.

If the location is nearby, or a personal visit feels essential, I’m happy to arrange one. Please note that travel and time will be charged as an additional cost.

Collection of landscape photos of a harbor and coastline with boats, greenery, and mountains, with a title overlay reading "Stage 1: Choosing the Scene".

STAGE 2 - Drawing & Development

Starting the drawing stage is always exciting, it’s where the scene really begins to take shape. This stage gives you a sense of the structure and feeling of your piece, as the drawing forms the base that will later be screen printed onto your artwork.

I’ll share a few updates as the drawing progresses, and this is the perfect time to offer any feedback or small adjustments.

Commissions are deeply personal, and I love including meaningful touches - your boat on the water, a hidden date, favourite flowers in bloom, or family figures on the shoreline. These subtle details don’t distract from the overall composition but add a quiet connection that makes the piece uniquely yours -that friendly little wave within the artwork.

STAGE 3 - Painting & Completion

Once the drawing and details are confirmed, we’ll revisit the colour palette and final dimensions before I begin painting. From there, I work with as much creative freedom as possible, allowing the piece to develop naturally through layers of screen print and paint for the best results.

A woman with brown hair tied back, wearing a light blue sweatshirt and a paint-splattered apron, is carefully lifting a section of a large canvas painting with ocean and landscape scenes in an art studio. The studio has shelves filled with various colorful paint containers in the background.

PAYMENT & SCHEDULE

I require a 50% deposit before beginning work, with the remaining amount to be paid prior to delivery.

Shipping and import taxes are quoted separately.

PROJECT TIMELINE 4 - 6 MONTHS

A scenic watercolor painting of a harbor with numerous sailboats on calm blue water, a coastline with green foliage and sandy beach in the foreground, and a town with houses and a church steeple in the background under a clear sky.
