My Process:

I created this piece through the family of screen print methods. I start by painting the foreground, sea, mudbanks and boats in many layers through the mesh of the silk screen which allows me to be expressive while keeping a clean crisp feel to the colour. I then screen printed the sky and my hand draw line drawing on to bring the scene and painting together.

I create up to 5 variable editions of each piece, each edition is inspired by different colour palettes, taking in change in seasons, weather and feel, resulting in unique, handmade work of art, while sharing the same hand screen printed line drawing.

Materials

Acrylic and screen print medium onto thick 300gsm satin cotton. Framed in a solid wood tray frame, painted in off white.
