The scene is captures Emsworth foreshore from the beach front at the bottom of South Street. Taking in all the characteristics of Emsworth harbour as the scene follows Emsworth Channel down the Harbour.

Painting and Screen print mixed media piece using pigment screen printing inks and acrylic painting onto canvas.
I created this pieces through the family of screen print methods. I start by painting the foreground, sea, buoys and boats in many layers through the mesh of the screen which allows me to be expressive while keeping a clean crisp feel to the colour. I then screen print the sky in a block colour to exaggerate the sky verses the motion in the sea. Finally I screen print my hand draw line drawing over the top in black to bring the narrative of the painting together.
I have created 5 original edition which all vary in application of colour, state of tide, season and weather. Giving each original edition a completely different feel, while having the same narrative as the only part which is replicated is screen printing my hand drawn line drawing as the final layer.
